We don’t tend to shout about things. Good care, in our experience, tends to speak for itself — in the way residents feel at home, in the way families leave visits feeling reassured, in the small moments that add up, day after day, across nine different homes.
But this one feels worth sharing.
Pressbeau has been named one of the Top 20 Care Home Groups in the UK by carehome.co.uk — one of the most trusted and widely used independent review platforms in the sector. And this year, two of our homes have also been individually recognised: New Meppershall Care Home in Bedfordshire, and Village Green Care Home in Marston Moretaine.
We’re proud. And we’re grateful — because this recognition belongs to the people who earn it every single day.
A little background — who we are
Pressbeau was founded in 1984 by Dr Krishna and Mrs Saraogi — a local GP and his wife who wanted to create somewhere older people could genuinely call home. Not a facility. Not an institution. A real home, with real warmth.
More than 40 years on, we’re still a family business, now in its third generation of leadership. We have nine homes across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, and the West Midlands — over 500 people on our team, and around 700 residents cared for every year.
The homes have grown. The principles haven’t.
What this award actually means
The carehome.co.uk awards aren’t decided by a panel, or a tick-box assessment carried out by inspectors. They’re driven entirely by the reviews left by residents and their families — real people, sharing their real experiences of living in and visiting our homes.
That matters to us. When families tell us that staff “always have a smile,” that their loved one has “become a happy, smiling lady” again, or that a home feels like “a big family” — that’s what this award reflects. It isn’t handed down from above. It’s earned, one day and one interaction at a time, by the people who work in our homes.
The homes recognised this year
We’re particularly proud that two of our nine homes have been individually recognised in their regions this year.
New Meppershall Care Home, nestled in a quiet Bedfordshire village, has been named in the Top 20 for its area. Village Green Care Home, in Marston Moretaine, has also been recognised — for the second consecutive year. Both homes are distinct places, with their own character and their own communities. But they share something important: teams who take the “home” part of care home seriously.

But it doesn’t change anything about how we approach our work — because it’s built on the same things we’ve always believed in: knowing the people we care for as individuals, making every home feel personal, and doing the small things well, consistently, every day.
