For the second year running, Village Green Care Home in Marston Moretaine has been named in the Top 20 care homes for its region by carehome.co.uk. This year, there’s more to celebrate alongside it: Pressbeau, the group Village Green belongs to, has also been named one of the Top 20 Care Home Groups in the country.
Two recognitions in one year. And in typical Village Green fashion, the team won’t be making a particularly big deal of it. That’s just not really the way things work here.

That phrase — “a place where care feels personal” — isn’t something we arrived at in a marketing meeting. It’s what the team at Village Green has built, quietly and consistently, over years of just getting on with it.
It shows up in the small things. The team knows how you take your tea, what you like to watch in the evenings, and what kind of morning suits you. They adjust around residents without being asked, because they’ve taken the time to actually know the people they care for.
Manager Pawel leads a team who take the “personal” in personal care seriously. Families notice it. One described their mother-in-law as having “become a happy, smiling lady” since moving in. Staff are described again and again as “cheerful, friendly, and caring” — not occasionally, but as a matter of course.

No set visiting hours means family life doesn’t stop at the front door. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms and make them their own. Food is freshly prepared on-site — proper meals, not reheated portions — with menus that feel familiar and satisfying.
The gardens have raised beds, herbs to tend, paths for a wander, and benches for those who’d rather sit and watch the day go by. Activities are offered — singalongs, quizzes, art, gentle movement classes — but no one is ever made to feel they have to join in. Real life isn’t a scheduled programme, and care at Village Green reflects that.
