A Care Home in Sandy

Our care services at Park House Care Home

We provide a range of care tailored to individual needs for the community of Bedford

Residential Care

Residential care at Pressbeau is about more than meals and medication. It’s about a sense of ease, connection and comfort – with daily routines that suit you, support that’s always close by, and a home where you feel part of something.

Whether someone needs a little help getting started in the morning, or simply doesn’t want to manage a household alone anymore, we’re here to offer just the right balance of support and independence.

Respite Care

Whether it’s for recovery, a family break, or just to try out life in care, respite stays at Pressbeau are warm, welcoming and built around the individual.
For some, it’s a pause between hospital and home. For others, it’s a chance to rest and recharge, knowing that trained, friendly people are always nearby.

Palliative Care

When someone reaches the later stages of life, they deserve more than medical care. They deserve gentle, respectful support, a calm environment, and people who treat every moment with meaning.

At Pressbeau, our palliative care is built around the person, not just the condition. We listen, we adapt, and we do everything we can to bring comfort, peace and presence - for both residents and their families.

Rehab & Convalescent Care

Recovering after a hospital stay or illness takes more than rest. It takes the right support, at the right pace, in a place that feels encouraging and safe. Our rehab and convalescent care gives people the time and space to rebuild strength, restore confidence and feel ready to return home - or simply feel like themselves again.

Dementia Care

Living with dementia can bring uncertainty, but the right care brings steadiness, comfort and calm. At Pressbeau, we create spaces where every day feels safe, structured and gently joyful.

Our teams are trained in dementia support, but more importantly, they know how to listen. We take time to understand each person’s routines, preferences and personal story - because familiarity makes all the difference.

Nursing Care

When someone needs ongoing medical care, recovery after illness, or a little more hands-on support each day, our nursing care offers confidence, calm and continuity.

At Pressbeau, we go beyond medication rounds and charts. We focus on helping people feel stronger, safer and more like themselves - with warmth, skill, and the little touches that make a big difference.

At Park House, we focus on care that’s personal, respectful and quietly reassuring. We get to know every resident — what makes them smile, how they like their tea, and what matters most to them. Whether someone is with us for a short stay or something longer, we work hard to make sure they feel safe, supported and at ease.

Loving Life

A day in the life at Park House Care Home

There’s always a friendly face, a proper cuppa, and something going on if you fancy joining in. At Park House, life continues with warmth, joy and gentle encouragement if you need it. Some days it’s gardening, painting or gentle chair yoga. Other days, it’s a local singer, a game of dominoes, or just catching up on The Archers or Strictly Come Dancing in your favourite chair.

Morning

Start the day your way — breakfast in bed, at your own table, or in the lounge with friends and a chat. The kettle’s always on.

Mid-morning

We often ease into the day with crosswords, music, or a cuppa over the papers. There's always time for a singalong or a stroll outside, too.

Lunch

Home-cooked meals, fresh from the kitchen — nothing fancy, just food done properly. Favourites like cottage pie, roast chicken or fish Fridays are regulars.

Afternoon

After lunch, you might find a quiz in the lounge, a film on in the snug, or residents enjoying the garden when the sun’s out. Or you might fancy a nap. That’s fine too.

Evening

Evenings wind down gently with a warm drink, the telly on, and staff nearby if needed. It’s a quiet, comforting end to the day — just as it should be.

Warm words

We are lucky to have this home near us and I can't recommend it enough. Mum has been in this care home for 6 years and from the day she went in, she loved it and is very happy there. The staff there are fantastic, just can't do enough, and I think it is a special home in the country. Mum gets a lot of stimulation and care and attention. Food portions are good, varied food, and your loved one won't go hungry! Staff go the extra mile and you see them treat our parents as if they were their own mum and dad."
